The Toledo Blade reports: SANDUSKY - The Perkins Education Association has issued a 10-day warning of its intent to strike the Erie County school district on Monday, when students are scheduled to return to school.
Bob Myer, spokesman for the teachers union, said yesterday the two sides have agreed to meet Sunday in a last-ditch attempt to avert a walkout by the 130 teachers, guidance counselors, and librarians.
The 10-day notice was delivered Friday.
The union said it worked without a contract the last school year. The first proposals were exchanged in March, 2005, and the pact expired June 30, 2005.
