Mitch Freedman--'One of a Kind' -to Speak at Vancouver Public Library

Mitch Freedman, ALA President from 2002-2003 flanked by members of his Better Salaries Task Force.

Overdue Reports:
VPL has now cancelled their board meeting. This is interesting because this afternoon the union put Mitch Freedman on the speaker list. If you don't know Mitch's work, he is a former ALA president with probably the strongest track-record on advocacy for pay equity.

So the union is arranging instead for him to speak to anyone interested, 7 pm, somewhere in the main library. No need to RSVP, but look for signs or ask about a room when you get there. Mitch loves talking to students and would love to meet you. The union has made a special invitation to future public librarians, and I think you should make time, if you're not in class, to hear him speak. He is truly one of a kind.
