University signs salary contracts with three employee unions

FAIRBANKS -- Three union contracts have been approved by the University of Alaska Board of Regents.
A union [United Academics, AAUP/AFT Local 4996] representing 940 university faculty, counselors, librarians, Cooperative Extension agents and postdoctoral fellows primarily employed at the main campus will receive an annual salary increase of 3.3 percent over three years. But the university's contribution to net health care will be reduced.
A separate union representing more than 1,000 part-time non-benefited faculty [United Academics-Adjuncts AAUP-AFT] negotiated a contract giving them a 4 percent raise each year for three years.
